Overview
Architectural Design I is the first course in the one-year foundation sequence which increases the student’s ability to perceive visual cues, create visual design, formulate concepts, and render ideas in two and three dimensions. The course introduces the students to a series of conceptual, compositional, and tectonic principles that inform 2 and 3-dimensional design. The Design Studio is linked with Visual Studies course emphasizing the cross polination of digital and analog means in the architectural design. Students use a combination of hand and digital skills to aid in the creation and interpretation of three dimensional objects and space.
